How do I reduce LCD camera glare when shooting pictures outside during midday?

I have a Kodak Easyshare camera and there isn't a setting for changing the screen brightness. When I shoot pictures outside during daylight, often I get a huge glare on the lcd screen. Often I have to take a picture and adjust the image after viewing the snapped photo. As for most LCD cameras, this camera doesn't have a viewfinder. How do I reduce LCD camera glare when shooting pictures outside during midday?
There's not much you can do about it. There are special hoods available for DSLR LCDs but they may not fit your camera however do see if you can find one to suit your camera somehow. Another option is to simply cup your hands and then view your LCD.How do I reduce LCD camera glare when shooting pictures outside during midday?
Yeahh that's the unfortunate thing with LCDs and why it's nice to have a viewfinder. You can buy films to cover the LCD that can reduce glare. Look for them in camera or electronics stores. Other than that there's not much you can do.How do I reduce LCD camera glare when shooting pictures outside during midday?
Many of the Canon Powershot A and SD series have viewfinders. Next time you buy a camera, check these out.How do I reduce LCD camera glare when shooting pictures outside during midday?
The poor man's way to go is a baseball cap. Use the cap as a hood in one hand to shade the lcd while shooting. Use the other hand to shoot. This would be bad in low light situations, but that's typically not the case if you've got so much light that you cannot see the screen. Awkward, but somewhat effective.
