also when i change the brightness of my screen, it only changes if i close my screen and open it back up.

can anyone help? How do i fix volume display on myGateway NV52?
Press Fn and hit the %26lt; and %26gt; buttons to turn the volumes up and down. If that doesn't work look at the lower right hand corner of your screen (next to where it says the time) and click on the icon that looks like a speaker, that is your volume mixer, from there you can turn the sound up and down and also mute/unmute your speakers. (If you can't find it on there go to control panel, click on hardware and sound and find where it says %26quot;adjust system volume%26quot; under %26quot;sounds%26quot;), however, simply pressing the %26quot;FN + %26lt; and %26gt;%26quot; should do the trick. Your FN button is next to the left Ctrl button on your keyboard. As far as the brightness, I am not sure what the problem could be but you should probably check your display settings to see if there's maybe a configuration problem, if not, I would take the computer to a technitian.
