Are all LCD monitors alike, in that you look at them from the sides and you can't see anything?

I'm surprised how people accept this.. And it's not even just from the side.. if you're not directly looking at the screen, if you're higher than the monitor or lower than the monitor.. it looks like BRIGHT and you can't see it. Well, this was my experience using a LCD from 2000, i have a CRT apple monitor and no matter what angle you look , the image is clear and the brightness doesn't change. So i'm planning on buying a flat screen, but i'm wondering if i'm gonna have to get used to a screen that changes brightness depending on your angle. cause that would suckAre all LCD monitors alike, in that you look at them from the sides and you can%26039;t see anything?
why would you want to look at a monitor from the side I don't know about you but I look at it from the front once you get a lcd you won't go backAre all LCD monitors alike, in that you look at them from the sides and you can%26039;t see anything?
Modern LCD's have a better / wider viewing angle than the old ones you've seen. Go into a store and check them out personally. Are all LCD monitors alike, in that you look at them from the sides and you can%26039;t see anything?

My lcd monitor is like that too and I bought it this year (Acer 19%26quot;). I'm not sure but I think you can get a lcd monitor that's visible from all angles though it may cost a bit more. The lcd tv displays where I work don't seem to have that problem so who knows.
