Battery screen Brightness issue?

I have a Dell Inspiron 8600 (less then 2yrs old) when at home I plug it into the outlet, but when traveling I us it off the battery. I find it is dimmer then when plugged in the outlet. I even got another battery with the same results.

Someone told me I have to change my setting in my control panel. But, I don't know what I am suppose to change.

How do I do it and will it make my screen the same brightness as when I plug it into the electric outlet.

I need some instruction and any information concerning this matter. Thank You.Battery screen Brightness issue?
Its dimmer on battery to save battery power. to change the dim, you have to hit your Fn key and the key with the brightness icon (looks like a sun). on my older dell its the Fn key with the up arrow.Battery screen Brightness issue?
Go into your control panel for power options. You can adjust how your computer reacts on battery power.Battery screen Brightness issue?
Start, control panel, appearance and themes, display, and change the brightness option to default settings. The screen color dims to help save energy. It happens to my computer and find it better than having the computer suck up the juice while its being poured if you know what I mean. Hope I helped.Battery screen Brightness issue?
Its a power saving option. Look at the manual as different laptops have their options in different places. My Toshiba has its own menu other than in the power management section in the control panel so your Dell probably does too. Shouldnt be that hard to find. If you dont have the manual you can download it from dells website.Battery screen Brightness issue?
I have a few dell laptops, I somehow developed a hobby of buying broken ones and making sometimes successful, sometimes feeble attempts at repairing them. Anyhow, what you are experiencing is normal. Every Dell I've messed with does that, the screen will dim slightly when you plug it into the AC. I don't know why they do that, but they do. You'd think it would be the other way around. The real fun is when you have a charger with a short in it and your screen starts flickering like a strobe light.

btw, you gotta give me the ten points since I was the nly guy that actually read the question.
