on my computer monitor there is a small blue box that says contrast with the options 1(to exit) and the option 2(to change between contrast/brightness). when i click 1 it does not exit the little blue box. this has become a problem because now it is blocking my visibility on the screen. how do i make it go away!Contrast/brightness menu will not leave my monitor?
This menu is in the monitor itself, not the computer. There should be buttons on the monitor face, try pressing the one labeled menu or exit, or those labeled with arrow keys. Can't tell you exactly without knowing the monitor model.
Simplest thing may be to turn the monitor off and on again.
