Or i should say does it vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, for example
Fn + F7 seems to alternate the display from external(if you have one plugged in) display to laptop display on most laptops (well from what i have read so far).
How about changing the laptop screens brightness is that Fn + F2
what other combos are there?Fn key + F1,2,3 etc keys on laptop, what do all combos do?
Hi,
Yes it does vary from manufacturer to manufacturer, so the only way to be sure is to check the manual.

You did not say which version, so I will assume it to be 11. Also, it would have been helpful to know what the monitor, the video card, and the drivers.
To adjust the video settings:
1. Click the Now Playing Tab along the top of the Window.
2. On the View menu, point to Enhancements, and then click Video Settings.
3. In the Enhancements pane, move the Hue, Saturation, Brightness, and Contrast sliders to the settings that you want to use.
Note:
---------
To hide the video settings, click the Close button in the Enhancements pane.
You might take a look at the following to see if this could be a resolution:

How can I make Windows XP appear in grayscale?
How can I make Windows XP appear in grayscale?
My monitor will NOT do it itself. Is there a Windows setting I can change? I've lowered the screen brightness to its lowest level and it's still giving me headaches after long days at work.
Does Windows have built-in grayscale settings? How can I make Windows XP appear in grayscale?
Hi there. You can try going into the appearance settings by right clicking on your desktop and just change all the colors to gray's/blacks. But I don't think you can change every single thing that way, but maybe it will help. If your having headaches when your screen isn't bright, have you considered the fact that you may need glasses? (If you don't have them prescribed already). I've heard that people whom get headaches from text/print, often just need glasses to solve their problem. Let me know if I helped any, and good luck. How can I make Windows XP appear in grayscale?
Right click on your desktop
Select Active desktop then customize my desktop
Go to the appearance tab, and change the color. How can I make Windows XP appear in grayscale?
Have you tried adjusting the refresh rate of your monitor? The most common cause of headaches due to monitors is the refresh rate.
Right-click on the desktop and then Properties -%26gt; Settings -%26gt; Advanced... (button near bottom) --%26gt; Monitor
Adjust the refresh rate up to 75MHz or higher. This will get rid of any flicker you may notice, especially due to fluorescent lighting.
And to answer your question, I do not believe there is an option for you to get your entier system gray-scale.How can I make Windows XP appear in grayscale?
hi there is a special screen that you put over the computer that i think is made for this but there is nothing you can do as in to stop your headaches you can reduce them but not stop them completly try adjusting sharpness level and all and refresh rate or stay farther from the screen when you can that all i could think of i dont know for sure if it will work because ive never been on the computer that long and i take brake every couple of hours for a couple of minutes like a drink of water which never hurts and if you fell that you cant deal with this no more and there is no solution mabe consider seeing a eye doctor mabe the doctor can give you more individual advice what to do good luck and when you go computer shopping make sure you pay very close to the type of screen you buy and consider the different types out there but before you go spend money try the small stuff firstcheapest web hosting Which duvet cover should i get

Do i have a virus? How do i fix this?
My computer shut down on its own twice, when i start it up the resolution is 800 x 600 and the screen colors/contrast/ brightness changes. Twice, a window has duplicated 36 times and when i close one another pops up. I have to unplug my computer when this happens because if i logoff it freezes anyway, and the power button doesnt shut it off! please help, if you need a hijack this log i can get one. Do i have a virus? How do i fix this?
You can run antivirus and antispyware programs, but the sad fact is if you have found one virus on your computer, you probably have several. Cleaning the computer now requires you to follow these steps, because modern viruses and spyware entrench themselves in files that your computer needs in order to run:
1. Virus-check your data files (not application files-- you have installer CDs for those).
2. Back up the data files, getting them off your hard drive.
3. Get your original operating system CDs that came with your computer.
4. Boot your computer from the operating system CD.
5. Select the option that erases your hard drive and then reinstall your system software.
6. Turn on your software firewall that came with your operating system.
7. Reconnect to the internet, and download *all* Windows updates, no matter how long it takes.
8. Reinstall your application software, and update the applications as much as you can.
9. Reinstall your data files.
10. Create a limited user account on your system that does *not* have administrator access, and web surf only from this account.
Yes, this is a pain in the butt. No, there is no other way. No, antivirus and antispyware programs cannot fix this problem on its own.
So, what do you do in the future?
1. Never click on links you find in an e-mail.
2. Never open an e-mail attachment, ever.
3. Only download files from a reputable website that you know is on the up-and-up.
4. Never use bit-torrent and other file-sharing programs.
5. Never use an unsolicited drive-checking site.
6. Turn off all java and java scripting by default, and only enable java and java scripting for sites that you know you can trust.
7. Never read an unsolicited e-mail, and delete spam immediately. It is possible to be hacked by reading an e-mail alone.
Please adhere to the 'dont's' I provided above, because you will have to repeat the cleaning steps that I listed first *every time you get infected.* Anti-spyware and anti-virus programs are good to have, but they are a second line of defense. The best way to protect your system is you, and changing your behavior.
Good luck!Do i have a virus? How do i fix this?
well, it could be a virus or the computer is getting heated up early. in such a case you would rather get another fan fixed into your cabinet..Do i have a virus? How do i fix this?

My xbox has been forgetting everything.?
This started a couple weeks ago. What happens is when i turn on my xbox when goes to the dashboard sometimes it has a default picture and doesn't say i have any gamerscore but sometimes it has my updated one(under armor one) and has my gamerscore in the top corner like it should. However when i launch Modern Warfare 2 before i do anything it asks me to set the brightness levels and change the screen size (push the arrows out to fit the screen). Also it says it recommends me to play the campaign before i play multi player (which i already did). This is starting to get very annoying because when i first turn it on to play i have an open nat and for me to play it needs to be moderate. Before all this changed i would just pull out the ethernet cord and plug it back it but now if i do that it makes me recover my gamertag and that waste time. I now have to turn my whole xbox off and turn it back on to get it to change and i no thats probably not good for it.
I was wondering if anyone else has this problem or no how to fix it.. thanksMy xbox has been forgetting everything.?
go on XBOX.com and call microsoft and they will give you advice
