I need help with my computer... 10 pnts for easy to understand answer.?

Ok so this is the problem I was in the control panel just looking how I can make the brightness of the screen lower and I made the thing on the top of each program’s blue bar smaller. You know the bar with the red X to exit the program. So I forgot how to change it back and I don’t like it this small so…

How can I fix the bar so it is a little bit bigger?

and…

Adjust the screen’s brightness so it’s not so bright?

Well, there are lots of types of monitors(spelled correctly?) out there, but sometimes there are some buttons on the monitor, if you are on a laptop then i don't think there would be any buttons, you could also go into the control panel and look under 'monitor'. under settings, there might be a setting option that allows you to change it, or you could right-click on the desktop and click properties, it could be under there somewhere. i'm not 100% sure.

For the size of the desktop, right-click on the desktop and go properties, then there should be a setting for 1024x658 pixels or something. change it so there are less pixels. it should make it bigger.

Sorry i couldn't explain it very well, and i might be wrong, but i can't change the settings on my computer, i don't own it. i am just a user. i am calling this off of memory. I hope i helped a little?!?!?...I need help with my computer... 10 pnts for easy to understand answer.?

Assuming that you have Windows XP

Alternatively

Go to Appearance tab -%26gt; Click Advanced Button -%26gt; Select Item = 'Active Title Bar' Set Size to what you want. 25 is defaultI need help with my computer... 10 pnts for easy to understand answer.?
You could have changed one or two things to cause this. I'll guide you through each step. This is, of course, assuming that you have Windows XP since you did not elaborate on what windows version you are using.

1) Right click on an empty area of your desktop.

2) Choose Properties from the menu that dropped down.

3) Go to %26quot;Appearance%26quot; tab at the top of this window.

4) Set your appearance to XP Standard, and hit OK. This is one of the things you could have changed. If it is still too small, then you have changed your resolution . . .. and

5) Repeat steps 1 and 2

6) Go to the settings Tab.

7) Locate the section named %26quot;Screen Resolution%26quot;

8) Bring this slider bar one click to the left. Hit Apply

9) IMPORTANT: If you like the new settings, Hit ok. If you do not like the new settings, wait 10 seconds and it will revert to its original.

And your last question:

Brightness is not controlled by the PC. A Video card only outputs signal, so contrast or brightness settings. This is done by the monitor itself. If you specify what make and model monitor you have, we can better help you there. Otherwise, look for the menu button, and find Brightness and bring it down. What's wrong with my Chronicles of Riddick graphics?

I installed from a torrent the PC game Escape from Butcher Bay and I'm having trouble with the color. The darkness (which there is much of) comes across as a little grey. This was negligible until about six hours into the game when Riddick gets his nightvision eyeshine abilty. Whenever I activate it, the whole screen becomes blindingly white with milky edges.

My question is, what should I change? I can adjust gamma, brightness, and contrast, but I really don't know how these relate to each other. I've tried fiddling with the settings, but it barely changes anything. It isn't like the screen is too bright, it's like there's a mist I just can't see through. Less nightvision than cataract vision.

I don't really want to get a new video card (I have Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100). What do you advise?What%26039;s wrong with my Chronicles of Riddick graphics?
The problem is you have a weak Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 3100 graphics chip..not a graphics card but a chip. Onboard video will never replace a real dedicated graphics card.

You may not want to get a graphics card but that is your only option if you want the game to function as it should

Shutter speeds/brightness?

I am using a Lumix FZ28 and am trying to take slower or faster shutter speeds going from 8 secs to 1/1000. Unfortunately... the pictures always seem to come out very dark (almost pitch black) or very bright ( the screens almost white!). Please tell me what I'm doing wrong and how to change it? Thanks.Shutter speeds/brightness?
If you change the shutter speed then you need to change the aperture to adjust the overall exposure.

For instance if you set the camera up at f16 @1/125 then change that to f16 @ 1/1000 (3 stops) the picture will come out underexposed (very dark).

To counteract that you would need to open the aperture three stops to f 5.6

alternatively if you were to decrease the shutter speed (to 1/60) you would be overexposing (lightening) and you would have to close the aperture to f22 (1 stop)

If you increase the shutter speed then there is less light (darker)

if you decrease the shutter speed then more light (lighter)

tShutter speeds/brightness?
You need to put your camera on %26quot;S%26quot; or shutter priority mode. It takes 3 factors to make your pictures correctly exposed, the main two being the speed of your shutter, and the size of the opening on the lens. You must select the right combination for your photographs to come out correct.

Read your manual and learn to use your light meter, or you can put your camera on %26quot;S%26quot; mode. From there you can select the shutter speed you want, and the camera's computer will select the size of the opening, also known as aperture.

Also, if you select a shutter speed to fast or too slow for the given amount of light, then your picture also won't come out correctly. In which case switch to %26quot;A%26quot; or aperture priority mode, then you will be able to see the fastest shutter speed you can use, and seriously read the manual.Shutter speeds/brightness?
This is a digital camera but any camera lets light in two ways: through the shutter (for an amount of time), through the lens (amount of light). Once you reduce the amount of light with one (ie. faster shutter speed), you must compensate with the lens opening (aperture) to let more light in for the proper exposure. If you simply adjust the shutter speed to 1/1000, you are reducing the amount of light entering the camera and underexposing your image or making it too dark. The opposite happens of course when you go to 8 seconds. Too much light will overexpose and make your image too light. BTW any shutter speed slower than 1/60 will require a tripod to avoid camera shake (blurry picture).

How to do this properly: Your camera's owners manual will show you how to use %26quot;manual mode%26quot; or %26quot;shutter/action freeze mode.%26quot; I'm guessing this camera has that option. In shutter or %26quot;action%26quot; mode the camera should automatically set the correct exposure after you set your shutter speed by opening the aperture to the proper setting. If you have %26quot;manual mode,%26quot; using your viewfinder, just adjust the aperture setting button or reel until the image looks good. An easy way to freeze action:

with camera on %26quot;auto%26quot; mode, keep pushing the flash button until the flash stays on. Forced flash use will almost always freeze the action!Shutter speeds/brightness?
It sounds like you might be in manual exposure mode. While you are varying the shutter speed, you are using the same aperture for each shot.

When you have slow shutter speeds, like 8 seconds, 4 second etc, you are letting in too much light for the aperture you have selected (overexposed), and consequently getting the whole image washed out. If this is a class assignment, that may be what the instructor wants you to see.

At the other end, when you have very short shutter speeds - 1/1000 - you are not letting enough light in and are getting underexposed (black) images.

Somewhere in your experimenting, you probably got 3-4 pictures that were viewable, with maybe one perfectly exposed.

In manual mode, you need to set both the shutter and aperture yourself - there is no help like the other modes. You should see a scale in the viewfinder that lets you know if you are exposing the picture properly. In the middle of the scale means a good exposure.

How do you use sythes autiminer in runescape?

i have bought sythes power miner and it gives me the instructions and it worked once and then went weird anyone know about it

    Welcome to Sythe’s PowerMiner HELP

    2. Log into your Runescape account and buy 1 - 14 picks (If you don’t already have them)

    3. Bank everything except the picks. Put all your picks in the first spots in your inventory. E.g. If you bought 10

picks then you need to put them in the first 10 spots in your inventory. DO NOT WIELD ANY PICKS

    4. Find a spot where there aren’t many people and turn off all three types of chat.

    5. Select your inventory

    Brightness/Contrast on my computer?

I just got a new Dell laptop and everytime I turn it on, I have to reset the brightness by pressing the function key and then the up arrow to get the screen as bright as I can. How can I set this in some other way so that it never changes?Brightness/Contrast on my computer?
    Do you have an inspiron?

Some dell laptops have a built in brightness control on the keyboard. I do not think there is a way to set it up permanently because it has an auto balance for the brightness.

One suggestion that I have is that you hook up the laptop to an external monitor so that you can set it up to the brightness you want and it will always be set up that way.

Try going into your CMOS setup. When you reboot your computer, hit F1 or F2, depending on your laptop, to go to your CMOS settings. There might be a primary setup for the display on there.

My Gateway Laptop won't start up? Please help me.?

When I go to turn my gateway laptop on, a black screen just appears. It shows the mouse icon, and I can move the mouse around, but other than that, nothing comes up.

Also, the buttons on the keyboard still work, like to put it in to sleep mode and change the LCD Brightness.

I also tried inserting a CD, and it showed a little cd icon next to the mouse, but then nothing happened.

I have no clue what's wrong, or how to get it to work.

    Someone please please help.

My laptop was working this morning fine, but then all of the sudden it isn't.My Gateway Laptop won%26039;t start up? Please help me.?
When your computer first turns on, hit either F11 or F8. This will bring up the safe mode start menu. Choose %26quot;Start in safe mode%26quot; and your computer should get into windows fine. Just make sure there arent any programs open and shut the computer down. Also, if you have a CD in the drive, an external hard drive plugged in, or a thumb drive plufgged in, your computer may be trying to boot from those. Make sure all of those are unplugged and there is nothing in the disc drive. If nothing happens after that you may either have a bad hard drive or your operating system files are corrupt :(My Gateway Laptop won%26039;t start up? Please help me.?
It sounds to me like maybe either your display went faulty or your video graphics card did. It could also be your motherboard, but I don't think it is. Sad to say, though, that if your graphics card is integrated, then your better off to just buy a whole new laptop, because they are not an easy or inexpensive fix, if it can be fixed at all. But that is what it sounds like to me.

Do I definately have at least subtle permanent brain damage? HELP!?

I know this is long but this is a personal issue that is literally life-changing to me. Please read this carefully and answer me seriously. You can ask me questions you need to know in order to answer my question and I will reply ASAP on 'additional notes'. This isn't just 2/10 points but one of my life's most needed information because permanent brain damage will affect every decision in my life, personality (identity) and success. I cannot write how grateful i will be if I get a conclusion in this today.

I had a mild traumatic brain injury in 2009 october and it still hasn't completely healed. At the moment if a slight external force touches my head I get noticeable symptoms immediately. 3 days ago a random pedestrian passing by hit his umbrella at the back of my head (one of its fins) and I still have symptoms now such as exaggerated brightness (including this computer screen at the moment), changed mentalities in judgement, temporary dizziness/light-headedness in mornings and increased typing errors. I confirm these to be reliable and not inmagined because no one can deny changes in how they feel (especially if they find daylight or TV so bright they cant even see) and think. One month ago someone threw something (perhaps a pen because i didnt notice) at my head and from then onwards my nerves going to my eyes/eyebrows feel exhausted constantly and stings (still present). I cannot even pull up fully one of my eyebrows. That's probably already permanent in itself. That shows how weak my brain tissues are since they even get damaged from shockwaves of a pen or umbrella.

When I got the TBI 8 months ago, I felt constant absentnessless/light-headedness and short memory loss (never knew from natural intuition what day of the week or month it was). My intuition was so weak that I couldn't even construct grammatically-correct sentences and it took my like hours to write one page. Right now that 8 months feels like a few days (i dont know if literally) because i went through it absent-mindedly.

My memory at the moment is still poor that i cant feel what day of the week it is unless i thought logically or if someone told me. I feel permanent mentality changes still from before my injury and find difficulties in understanding easy and what should be instinctive abstract ideas (although that is getting better gradually). Still, at the moment what should be understood subconciously by intuition i have to replace by logical thinking in small steps in order to do the same problem solving.

I ask those whose field has something to do with TBIs give me an estimate just based on what I have covered the percentage chance of me ending up with ANY subtle permanent brain damage at all.Do I definately have at least subtle permanent brain damage? HELP!?
What you are describing in the first few paragraphs sounds more like nerve damage than brain damage. Unless your skull still has a gaping hole in it, the events you described wouldn't effect your brain so much as the nerves that are outside your skull (mostly in the scalp). Those nerves are attached to the facial nerves and, indirectly, nerves that effect eyesight. Depending on how widespread the nerve damage may be, it could be interacting with residual symptoms of the brain injury to cause the sensitivity to brightness, facial twitches or numbness, etc.

As far as the memory loss and thinking structure changes, if you're noticing improvement, that's a good sign. Only someone who is monitoring your progress and seeing scans of your brain can give you a real estimate of how complete your recovery will be, and chances are you won't ever be 100% the same as you were before, but as long as you continue to work at your recovery and see improvements (no matter how small), it's possible that you could regain many of your previous skills, even if you can't do them as quickly or as perfectly as you could before.

  • Why did my laptop change colors?

I own a Dell Inspiron 9300 and it's a few years old. Anyway, I was working in Photoshop, coloring a picture, and after I closed the program I noticed the colors on the screen were much brighter then normal. The borders on my internet browser is normally green and now its a greenish yellow, almost as if the brightness had been increased. I thought that was the problem at first and turned down the brightness, but the colors did not return to normal. Green turns to yellow, yellows turn to white; everything is just generally much much brighter. How can I fix it?

I have broken pixels or something on my screen as well but nothing like this has ever happened before.

Using the Ambient Light Sensor in Bright or Low-Light Environments:

NOTE: Your laptop computer may not have an ambient light sensor.

NOTE: The ambient light sensor adjusts the display brightness on your laptop computer only. It does not control the brightness on external monitors or projectors.

The ambient light sensor is located on the front of the computer display. The sensor detects available environmental light and automatically increases or

decreases the display backlighting to compensate for low-light and high-light environments.

You can enable or disable the ambient light sensor feature by pressing the %26lt;Fn%26gt; and left-arrow key combination.

NOTE: Do not cover the ambient light sensor with any adhesive labels. If covered, the sensor攚hen enabled攁utomatically sets the display brightness to the

    minimum level.

NOTE: The ambient light sensor is disabled when your computer is connected to an electrical outlet.

Using the display brightness key combinations disables the ambient light sensor and the display brightness increases or decreases accordingly.

NOTE: Rebooting the computer returns the ambient light sensor to it檚 prior setting (either enabled or disabled).

Mac or PC for a graphic designer?

I'm a senior majoring in graphic design. I have a Dell Latitude D600 (512 ram, 1400 MHZ processor..)

I know how to use PC and Macs, but much more familiar with PCs. I want to get a new computer specifically to use for my graphics programs. Now I've always heard Macs are better (for graphic designers), it is only because of the graphics card right?

Also, should I get a laptop or desktop? Does the brightness and contrast of colors change when you look at the screen from different angles on LCD screens still? I feel like getting a desktop solely because I dont want an LCD screen that does that. But if newer laptop screens dont do that, then I want a laptop.

Also, is it cheaper to get a laptop with high speed processor then just have the RAM and videocard upgraded myself or should I just buy it all already together?

Answers to any of these questions will be helpful, thanks.Mac or PC for a graphic designer?

When you are using a computer for any reason, you should always look at all the factors not just one. As graphics designer first you need to worry about the video card of course, but you need to also look at the processor/speed and the software you will be using. You need to always get the best hardware for the best performance. Macs are better therefore more expensive.Mac or PC for a graphic designer?
Sorry, they haven't come out with technology for no-LCD laptop screens. If the angle discoloration really bothers you (and it should if you're a graphic designer), go with the desktop. And Macs, yes, are better for graphic designing, although there's not a huge difference between them and PCs when it comes to graphic designing (like in the Adobe Creative Suite.)Mac or PC for a graphic designer?

I was playing around with some settings on my N95 8GB and turned an option called 'Screen Rotating' to the automatic setting. I also turned my screen brightness to maximum. This now casues my phone to keep rebooting. My phone will power up and then once the front screen has loaded the moment I go to do anything it then reboots again. How can I change it back or manually reset it? I can't update the software as the phone does not stay on for that long.Nokia N95 8GB Keeps Rebooting?
Best thing to do is take it to a phone shop and tell them about the problem as it seems you cant do much as it reboots and does not give you time at all to do anything. You can try this take the battery out and then put it back in and see if that helps.Nokia N95 8GB Keeps Rebooting?

The laptop screen is dark, what did it?

My sister turned her laptop(eMachines M5405) on this morning, and the screen was almost too dark to see. From about ten feet away, it doesn't even look like its on. She tried adjusting the brightness using the FN and F8 key, but it wouldn't change. The laptop is a few years old, and it has had a few viruses over this year. The internal CPU fan is also broken, so it has an external fan on the back. This is kinda important, since all her school files are on it. Anybody have an idea how the screen went bonkers, or how to fix it?The laptop screen is dark, what did it?
the first thing i would suspect is that the backlight is going bad. if not the backlight it could be the inverter. cant really explain how to fix on here but need to take to computer shop, and i would seriously fix that cpu fan because laptops run hot anyway. may possibly be why the screen is so dim.

PLEASE HELP?
first things first. you need to figure out your password. you can't restore the phone unless you know the password. so get that first then just restore the phone. then all your settings will be back to normal.

  • Computer Problem! Screen Dims Randomly?

I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 series laptop computer. I have had it for only a few months. I recently transported my computer, my computer did not fall or anything but was snug in my carrying case when I transported it. When I turned it on, the computer monitor would suddenly dim to the point you could barely read the screen. Every now and then the screen would flash and be at its normal brightness and then turn dark again. I noticed that when I move the monitor around it is more likely to change (from light to dark and dark to light).

When the monitor is pushed down closer to the keyboard, it is more likely to stay light. Why am I getting sudden flashes of light? I had a similar problem a while bag and the tech guy said that my computer was low on energy. How could this be even when the computer is plugged in?

How can I fix this problem? I can hardly do anything on my computer because of these constant random flashes when my monitor is upright.

Any help appreciated.Computer Problem! Screen Dims Randomly?
you have done the troubleshooting, sound like a loose connecting in or around the hinges of the monitor which is the Achilles heel of all laptops. Two choices have a go at it yourself, it will just be a push in connection, if you confident in pulling it apart, disconnecting all power and removing battery before starting. Pay a shop to do the same job.Computer Problem! Screen Dims Randomly?
try to use different monitor first then if still has the problem then try to use other video card or use your built in

if it would be a power problem you can try running the laptop without the battery, only powered by the charger. if the problem still persists i suspect either a lose cable from the mobo to the screen or even worse a defective inverter. the inverter is a part within the screen that can easily break (flashing screens are often the result of a broken inverter).

inverters for the most laptop brands and models can be found on ebay. replacing an inverter isn't a tough but a troublesome job. instructions how to replace it can be found in the service manual.
